Yue Bing by szmoon Yue Bing by szmoon
My mom and I made a lot of yuebing (moon cakes) for the Mid-Autumn Festival (last friday, I think) last week and the week before. :XD: I think we made around 200- 300, but not the big knd in the pic above. :o Somebody ordered about 180 of them from us, but we made a lot of test ones first. :aww: Inside we put either red bean paste, pineapple stuff, or taro paste stuff. ^w^

I've never had a mooncake, but they look delicious! Sweet? Pefectly browned and a beautiful decoration. The photo is good enough for a magazine.

mmm, I wish I could taste one of these without having to buy a whole $18 box of them.

My hubby and I saw these at the giant asian super market we go to every week but we didn't know what the heck they were so I had to Wiki them and find out. The ones with the egg yolk in the center sound a little wierd for our narrow U.S. palettes but I but the taro is tasty.

Actually, I'm not sure if I've ever had any either. I think I just eat dumplings without even realizing what's in them. :XD:
